Job Description

Position Summary: Lead the global account planning and sales operations function for the Kodiak, Terra and Dickies footwear brands. Partner with SLT on development and execution of brand strategies, focused on growth and profitability.Maintain and expand control-related standards and procedures and the corresponding reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead and mentor the account planning and sales operations teams that support the global Kodiak, Terra and Dickies footwear brands.Continue to build and enhance the core department functions: account planning and sales strategy (IMS, key account planning), business reporting, brand policies and administration (IMAP). % of Time Involved: 25%; Relative Importance: 5 - Very High

2. Elevate key account planning to achieve proactive account management by season through planned assortments and flow, active analysis of sell-through and inventory management at the account, and anticipation/ plan for markdown and return exposure. % of Time Involved: 25%; Relative Importance: 5 - Very High

3. Partner with Finance on brand P&L management, to include account level strategic plans, creating and administering selling programs, driving monthly forecast process and annual budgets to achieve business objectives. Responsible for maximizing revenue, service and inventory turn by ensuring an accurate and informed sales planning process. % of Time Involved: 25%; Relative Importance: 5 - Very High

4. Brand Strategy: provide the connective tissue between the business data and the long term strategic plans.Translate strategic direction in to actionable and measurable tactics.Report on progress and results. % of Time Involved: 10%; Relative Importance: 4 - High

5. Key contributor in the Go to Market process in conjunction with Product and Sales teams to inform the overall product strategy matrix.Own post session initial product forecast process. % of Time Involved: 10%; Relative Importance: 4 - High

6. Collaborate with VF Workwear organization to integrate Go to Market approach for cross-brand selling and key account management. % of Time Involved: 5%; Relative Importance: 3 - Medium

Job Requirements:

Years of Related Professional Experience:

  • 10+ years at a senior management level in a sales planning function, preferably in a related industry.
  • Experience in developing, implementing and managing the account planning functions for a wholesale and/or multi-unit specialty retail company
  • Capable of evaluating, recommending and implementing appropriate planning and sales forecasting reports, analysis, and systems
  • Educational/Position Requirements: Bachelor s degree required; MBA Preferred


  • A leader with strong team management/development and communication skills as well as merchandising, financial control and sales/profit maximization orientation
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, entrepreneurial culture
  • Well-developed management skills, with a strong ability to work cross functionally
  • Strategic and analytical thinker
  • Basic computer skills required, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes
  • Special Physical and/or Mental Requirements:

    Up to 25% travel by air and overnight both domestic and international locations required.
