We are responsible for the overall risk and control framework for CWM & IDS that includes governance, regulatory response, risk mitigation, risk transformation and business intelligence.Our Functional Control Managers have deep subject matter expertise, are embedded with the broader Business teams and work hub and spoke with the Business and other pillars of our risk and control team to help carry out the consistency of the framework while driving the continued evolution of a more advanced risk and control approach.We partner with Operations, Technology and Business leadership to take the best of what we do and drive deliberate cross-pollination, lessons learned, and initiatives to achieve risk reduction.We serve the broader organization in a collaborative fashion, with a mindset to ??serve and protect ? and ensure a ??design for control ? oriented approach in all that we do. The Functional Control Manager (FCM) is a key member of CWM & IDS ?? Risk & Control Team, providing leadership and day-to-day partnership with business units for execution of the RCSA Program to ensure business risk is effectively mitigated. The FCM is an individual contributor who will provide support for a proactive risk and control culture by leveraging business knowledge, assessment and evaluation strategies, and sound change management protocols. The successful execution of your responsibilities requires the ability to influence outcomes, partner, and effectively communicate across CCB, AWM and CWM control teams, business units, and support functions. The role supports two critical business functions ?? Branch Sales and Global Supervision - and will coordinate with Product and Operations Control functions to achieve full business coverage. Responsibilities: Provide confident leadership and sound judgment to influence a strong risk management culture across business practices Leadership support for the end-to-end execution of the RCSA Program to reduce financial loss, regulatory exposure, and reputational risk Drive business practices, strategic decisions, key priorities, internal controls in line with firm and CWM policies and standards Collaborate and communicate effectively with business partners, Compliance, Risk Management, Legal, Technology and Audit teams Lead timely and effective issue management and closure for CWM Sales & Supervision, while ensuring business ownership of the risk posture & control environment Partner with the CWM Sales & Supervision Controls Director and senior business management to analyze and implement change related to Key business changes and strategic initiatives Legal & Regulatory impacts Lessons learned from Operational loss events, metric trends, Audit/Regulator issues Firm-wide Programs (Conflict of Interest, TPO, NBIA, etc.) Qualifications: Bachelor ??s degree or equivalent experience required Exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills; able to synthesize diverse processes and data and formulate appropriate conclusions Strong interpersonal skills, exceptional relationship building and influencing skills and ability to effectively partner with all levels of management across numerous teams to help drive the control agenda Clearly articulate business risks and control strategies in a meaningful and actionable manner Flexible, adaptable to shifting priorities; able to work in a fast-paced, results driven environment 7+ years of financial service experience including retail investment knowledge Proficient knowledge of risk and control concepts with the ability to design, create and evaluate effective risk mitigation strategies in conjunction with business and second line partners Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and the ability to develop compelling and meaningful executive presentations that will drive opportunities / recommendation for improvement Not ready to apply?
